Located at 190 E El Camino, Fresno, CA 93720, O-iza Modern Japanese operates as a japanese serving Fresno in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Fresno, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Fresno is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Fresno follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Excellent service Excellent quality. The Ceviche appetizer was excellent completely recommended. Of course the sushi we had Dragón roll, we love that its not over stuffed with rice it was perfect. The sea bass and risotto was an explosion of flavors.

Best place to show off to non locals, take your date out to, celebrate at, eat good food, and treat yourself. My friend said that the shishito plate was her favorite but I like the raw fish. The servers were nice. They let us take photos and even helped us record a tiktok. The atmosphere was friendly and I recommend you make a reservation ahead.

From the moment you step inside O-iza, it’s clear this is no ordinary sushi restaurant. The space is serene and intentional — every detail, from the warm wood counter to the soft, indirect lighting, signals that you’re about to experience something special. What elevates O-iza above its peers is the chef’s creativity. This isn’t a place recycling the same twelve nigiri you’ve had a hundred times. Unexpected pairings — a whisper of citrus here, a touch of aged soy there — kept every course surprising without ever feeling gimmicky. You sense a deep respect for Japanese tradition alongside a genuine curiosity about what sushi can become. Presentation, too, is flawless. Each piece is placed with quiet confidence, as if the chef knows exactly the impression it will make. It’s the kind of meal you find yourself mentally revisiting for days afterward. Yes, O-iza can be a splurge. But for an evening this immersive — where craft, freshness, and hospitality converge so seamlessly — it’s worth every penny.

Just arrived from Texas and made a pit stop in Fresno—and I’m so glad we did. If you’re looking for a sushi spot that delivers both incredible food and an unforgettable experience—this is it. From the moment you walk-in ! OH and a Shout OUT to LISA -she truly made our night. Her personality, attentiveness, and genuine warmth took everything to another level. It’s rare to come across someone who doesn’t just serve you, but actually enhances your entire dining experience—and she did exactly that. Exceptional customer service all around. And the food? Absolutely delicious.

Each dish was beautifully crafted. My favorite was the Kobe beef salad—it melted in my mouth. The uni was also sweet and fresh. Even the desserts were intricate and special. The fresh meat quality stood out, and overall, it’s a refined yet reasonably priced restaurant, perfect for family gatherings. The ambiance is elegant. Our server, Eli Huang, was incredibly attentive and made thoughtful recommendations, making the entire dinner special. My guests were very pleased!
